Richard Rogers RA: Inside Out, Royal Academy of Arts, 2014

Co-curated by Jeremy Melvin and Jane Withers, Richard Rogers RA: Inside Out explored the life and work of the renowned architect in his 80th year. A departure from conventional architecture exhibitions, Inside Out placed Rogers’ social and political ethos centre stage and showed how this has influenced his architecture. Jane’s curatorial focus was the rich archive of contextual material including drawings, writings, film, photography and artworks framing the buildings in a series of narratives designed both to give powerful insight into the ideas and influences of one of the world’s most celebrated architects and also to promote a deeper understanding of the cultural, social, political and environmental challenges of architecture in the last half-century.
